Sophia Skiles is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Theatre Program, teaching courses in Introduction to Theater and Introduction to Acting. This spring, she is thrilled to direct Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage and Her Children with a translation by Tony Kushner on the Quimby stage, having been inspired by student project work in the Intro to Theater course. She has also been a Visiting Professor/Guest Artist at Mount Holyoke College as well as conducted guest lectures at Bard College. Sophia is a professional stage actor, appearing in productions directed by Richard Foreman, Andrei Serban, Anne Bogart, David Herskovits, David Levine, Ralph Pena, Chay Yew, May Adrales, among others. She is a frequent collaborator of directors Cynthia Croot, Sonoko Kawahara and playwright Chiori Miyagawa. BS Performance Studies, Northwestern University; MFA
